Root account locked out after password expiration

In our post this time we will talk about How to reset Root password , The vCenter Server Applaince 5.5 and 6.0 release enforces local account password expiration after 90 days by default. This policy locks out the root account when the password expiration date is reached.

Therefore if you still can access console of VCSA through using other user you can login to VCSA and using the same password for the root user vc0again and it will login

Here you Must enable shell to write your command .

After Enable Shell write this command passwd root

vcsa

Now you can change the root password type New password & retry it again

You are Successfully for resetting the password

The vCSA allows you to establish your own password expiration and warning email policies by using the Admin tab of the Virtual Appliance Management Interface (VAMI).
